How do I change my flight?

Change of plans? It happens! All flight changes start on Hopper. Hopper will use your airline and fare details to guide through changing or requesting to change your flight.

If you booked a basic economy fare, or a fare that does not permit changes, your flight can't be changed by Hopper or the airline. 

Note: If your flight departs in less than 24 hours, contact the airline directly to make a change.

To change your flight:

On the app:

1. Tap Help

2. Select the flight you'd like to change

3. Tap Change my flight

4. You will be prompted to contact the airline or to continue changing your flight on Hopper

5. To continue changing your flight on Hopper, review the flight change policy on the Change my Flight screen

6. Tap Change dates and/or Change airports to make your new selection(s)

7. Review your changes and Important info section

8. Depending on your booking, you will see the option to either Request Changes or Search new flights

If you see Request Changes:

1. Tap Request changes to share your request with Hopper. A Hopper agent should contact you in around 30 min to change your flight. You won't be charged until the agent confirms the details with you.

If you see Search new flights:

1. Select the flight(s) you want to modify and tap Search

2. Select new flight(s)

3. Tap to continue to confirm your new itinerary, then review the change details

4. Depending on your booking, you will see the option to either Submit Request or Continue

If you see Submit request:

1. Tap Submit Request

2. Your changes will be submitted and you will receive a confirmation email once they've been processed (in around 24 hours)

If you see Continue: 

1. Tap Continue

2. Review details, then Swipe to Confirm Changes

3. Your changes were made and you will receive an email confirming your new flight information

On the web:

To change your flight on Hopper.com, you must contact Hopper support.

1. Log in to your account 

2. Click your name, then click My Trips

3. Find the flight you'd like to change and click Change Flight

4. Contact Hopper support

Change policies and fees

Depending on the fare you booked, the airline may charge fees to change your flight. Hopper must approve all changes with the airline before they are processed. 

To review change policies:

On the app:

1. Tap Trips

2. Tap the flight you want to review

3. On the Trip Summary screen, tap Fare Details

4. Review the Charges section

On the web:

1. Log in to your account

2. Click your name, then click My Trips

3. Click on the flight you want to review

4. Click View Details

5. Review Fare Details

Cancel instead of change

If you've booked a refundable fare, you have the option to cancel and rebook your flight, instead of changing it.

If you made your booking within the last 24 hours or your booking status is pending, it may also still be possible to cancel free of charge. To see if you're eligible, start canceling your flight and review the details on the Cancel My Trip screen.

Contacting the airline to cancel

If you are prompted to contact the airline to cancel your flight, they may ask for your confirmation number.

If Hopper is processing your change request, please allow at least 24 hours for the support team to respond. Deciding to pursue changes directly with the airline within 24 hours of submitting your initial request to Hopper may result in the airline charging additional fees. Hopper is not responsible for an additional fees paid to the airline.
