## How do I track my refund on Hopper?

If you’re eligible, the process to send your refund will begin as soon as you cancel your booking. For bookings managed directly by Hopper, it will take us up to 24 hours to process your refund and issue it back to the payment method you used to make your booking. Then, your bank or credit card issuer will normally take 3-5 business days to get your refund to your account.

For bookings made through Hopper but managed by one of our airline, lodging, or car rental partners, your refund may take longer to process.

### **Refund tracker**

For many bookings, you can track your refund using the refund tracker by going to your profile on the Hopper app, tapping Transaction History, and then tapping Track Refund. If your booking is managed by a Hopper partner, their transaction details are not available to us, so we are not able to show you the refund status on Hopper. In these cases, you can contact the airline, hotel, or rental company directly for updates on your refund.

**Note:** To figure out if your booking is managed by Hopper directly or one of our travel partners, check your payment history with your financial institution. If you see a charge from HOPPER \*TRAVEL, your booking is managed with Hopper directly. If you see another partner’s name or information, then your booking is managed by one of our trusted partners.

### **Refund tracker statuses**

* **Refund initiated:** You are eligible for a refund from Hopper and the process has been initiated (normally as a result of your booking being canceled).
* **Refund in progress:** Hopper is validating your refund. This takes up to **24 hours**.
* **Refund processed:** Your refund has been processed successfully and has been issued back to your payment method. Your bank or credit card issuer is now responsible for getting your refund to you. This usually takes **3-5 business days (but may take up to 30 business days)**.
_Note: If you cancel your booking within 24 hours of making it, we may have only placed a hold on your payment method without charging you for the booking yet. In this case, we’ll simply remove the hold, canceling the transaction._
* **Refund not issued:** Your refund was not processed. This is typically because we aren’t able to make a connection with your financial institution or there is a problem with your payment method or account. To resolve this, [contact Hopper support.](https://help.hopper.com/ryiprtdtP)
_Note: If the payment method you used to make your booking has expired or was canceled, please contact your financial institution directly about forwarding your refund to your new card. Unfortunately, we are not able to update payment details._

### **I haven’t received my refund**

It usually takes 3-5 business days to receive your refund, but depending on your financial institution, it’s possible that it can take up to 30 business days. If it has been 30 business days and you haven’t received your refund, contact your financial institution. Provide your Refund Reference Number found in transaction history and the refund tracker, and your bank or payment provider can give you an estimate about when you can expect to receive your refund.

### **I have been refunded less than I paid**

There are a few different reasons why the refund you received is lower than what you paid when you made your booking:

* Part of your booking was non-refundable. For example, you may have added an ancillary product like, Change For Any Reason, which is non-refundable.
* Part or all of your booking was paid for using a voucher. Vouchers are non-refundable.
* Part of your booking was paid for using Hopper credits, like Carrot Cash or added funds. Any Hopper credit is instantly refunded to your Hopper wallet, and the remaining balance is refunded to the payment method you used to make your booking.
* You paid for your booking in a different currency. Banks and card issuers may charge foreign transaction or currency conversion fees (typically between 3-5%) which are non-refundable.
