## Why was I charged even though my booking wasn't confirmed?

When you book on Hopper, we may put a temporary hold on your payment method for the total amount of your booking—this is not a charge. The hold will likely appear as a pending transaction in your payment account.

Unfortunately, there are rare scenarios where it won’t be possible to complete your booking on Hopper. This happens most commonly if the same trip is booked by another traveler, and the airline, hotel, or car rental agency becomes sold out of that particular option.

If it's not possible to complete your booking, the hold is released back to your payment account within an hour. While it only takes Hopper an hour to release the hold, it is normal for your financial institution to take between 1-3 working days to drop the pending charge in your account. If you continue to see a pending transaction in your account, you can contact your financial institution directly and request that they expedite the process.

If the airline confirms your booking, the hold becomes a charge and your booking status will move from **Pending** to **Confirmed**. You will receive a confirmation email with your ticket(s). This usually takes up to 48 hours

#### **Important to note:**

* #### If you booked a flight for multiple passengers, you may see multiple pending transactions in your payment account.

* It is possible to make another booking before the funds are released back to your account. If you make another booking, you may temporarily see two pending transactions in your account, but you will not be overcharged.
